Chad Dawson faces light heavyweight world champion Bernard Hopkins on Saturday night in Atlantic City, live on HBO, and the former two-time titleholder says he won't look for a knockout, but believes one will come to him as the two hit the reset button following their October 2010 non-start.
From Ryan Burton of BoxingScene.com:
"I am going to put the pressure on him like we did in the first fight. ... It's not my style to look for a knockout but I think it will present itself. I think somewhere around the 5th or 6th round if things go as planned."
Dawson (31-1, 17 KO) looked unusually aggressive for the 5:48 of "action" that we got last year, but like he says, going for flashy knockouts is not his style. But he never has backed off of saying very clearly he thinks he's too strong and too fast for Hopkins, and Dawson genuinely believes Hopkins doesn't want anything to do with him. That's fuel for "Bad" Chad.
We'll have more on this fight shortly with a full preview of the bout, leading up to our round-by-round coverage of the show on Saturday night.
