Bellew vs McIntosh: Live Results and Round-By-Round Coverage

Tony Bellew welcomes Danny McIntosh to Liverpool today.

Today at 5 p.m. EDT on Sky Sports 1 in the UK, Tony Bellew returns to the ring in Liverpool to face Danny McIntosh in a 12-round main event for the British light heavyweight title.

Bellew (16-1, 10 KO) hasn't fought since October 15, when he gave WBO titlist Nathan Cleverly a very stern test in a fight many thought was going to be easy for the Welshman, but turned out plenty difficult indeed. Whether that owes more to Bellew being better than expected or Cleverly worse is a debate to be had, but one way or another, Bellew stock rose after the fight.

McIntosh (13-2, 7 KO) is a fine domestic contender with stoppage losses to Cleverly in 2009 and Eduard Gutknecht last May, which was the last time McIntosh was in the ring. He upset Thierry Karl to win the European light heavyweight title in January 2011 before dropping it to Gutknecht, so a win over Bellew wouldn't necessarily be a career-best, but it would sure come at the right time.

Dave Oakes previewed the bout yesterday, so if you're in need of familiarizing yourself with the fighters or you just want to read a good fight preview, check that out.
