Four unbeaten fighters are on tap for tonight's edition of ESPN Friday Night Fights, starting at 10 p.m. EDT on ESPN2, ESPN3.com, and ESPN Deportes. Bad Left Hook will have live, round-by-round coverage of the show.
In the main event, top light heavyweight prospect Ismayl Sillakh (17-0, 14 KO) squares off against Denis Grachev (11-0-1, 7 KO). Both fighters now live in California, Sillkah having relocated from Ukraine and Grachev from Russia. The 27-year-old Sillakh is a true blue chipper, a fighter entering what should be his prime years with great skills and potentially huge, pound-for-pound list-type upside.
Grachev, 29, does not have the same hype behind him, but he did take the "0" from East Coast prospect Vladine Biosse last year. This will be a much bigger task, of course, since Biosse was half-prospect, half-project, and Sillakh is a true fighter who many feel is already deserving of a top 10 ranking at 175 pounds.
The co-feature is a terrific matchup between super featherweights Yuandale Evans (16-0, 12 KO) and Javier Fortuna (18-0, 13 KO). Evans, 23, is nicknamed "Money Shot," which is just gross, and is one of many skilled but unproven young fighters coming out of Ohio right now.
Fortuna, 22, is a Dominican prospect who outpointed tough Miguel Roman in December, part of the Rubio vs Vanda card in Las Vegas. For both Evans and Fortuna, this figures to be the toughest test of their young careers, and with neither of them having power promoter backing, they're actually going to have to earn a bigger fight by taking this risky proposition.
