Hopkins vs Dawson II: Live Results and Round-By-Round Coverage

Bernard Hopkins and Chad Dawson square off again tonight on HBO and BoxNation.
Bernard Hopkins and Chad Dawson square off again tonight on HBO and BoxNation.

Tonight at 10:15 p.m. EDT on HBO and BoxNation, the world light heavyweight championship is on the line, with 47-year-old Bernard Hopkins defending against Chad Dawson in Atlantic City. In the co-feature, heavyweight prospect Seth Mitchell faces Chazz Witherspoon.

Hopkins (52-5-2, 32 KO) and Dawson (30-1, 17 KO) met last October in a fight that went nowhere, ending in the second round on an injury, originally ruled a TKO win for Dawson and changed later to a no-contest (and rightfully so). Dawson and Hopkins have built what feels like a genuine rivalry, as "Bad" Chad has come out of his shell verbally to go at Hopkins, who in return has been a bit less fiery than in the past, focusing more on his history than much of anything to do with Dawson.

Hopkins is again the underdog in this fight on the sportsbooks, but many boxing fans definitely know better than to bet against the unbelievably resourceful living legend. Our preview of the fight from Thursday morning breaks down the matchup, so if you missed that, check it out for some last-minute analysis. Then join us this evening for what could -- as always -- potentially be the last fight in a great career. At 47, any fight could be the last one.
