The hype really starts to kick in today for Saturday night's Mayweather vs Cotto show, with the first fight week event this afternoon, the grand arrivals of the fighters at the MGM Grand.
The show will start at 4:30 p.m. EDT, streamed live on the fight's official UStream channel. The order of the entrances will be Shane Mosley, Canelo Alvarez, Miguel Cotto, and finally, Floyd Mayweather Jr, about a half-hour apart from each other to give them time to shake hands and kiss babies and talk to Kevin Hart or whatever it is they'll be doing.
I certainly won't say this is the most exciting thing, because that would be a huge lie. Frankly, it's not exciting at all. It's some guys walking into a lobby. It's not like they're gonna breakdance or get into fights or anything.
Tomorrow we'll have the final Mayweather vs Cotto press conference at 4 p.m. EDT, on Thursday the final undercard presser featuring Canelo and Mosley at 2 p.m. EDT, and the weigh-in on Friday at 5:45 p.m. EDT (HBO will go live at 6 for the Canelo vs Mosley and Mayweather vs Cotto weigh-ins).
