Bob Arum denies allegations from Floyd Mayweather that he's attempting to sue Leonard Ellerbe and/or Mayweather Promotions for any wrongdoing or the like with Top Rank-contracted fighter Yuriorkis Gamboa, who bailed on his April 14 fight with Brandon Rios and has been seen with the Mayweather camp this week during Mayweather vs Cotto fight week.
From BoxingScene.com:
"He said what he said, this is great. Again, people read it and they are sort of astonished with the language and everything. And the lawyers read it and they lick their chops. And why he brought it up at all, and said that we were suing Leonard and Mayweather Promotions - maybe he's predicting the future. We're not suing them. Maybe they are expecting to get sued, but we aren't suing them."
Mayweather and Arum are having a familiar back-and-forth the past couple of days, as Floyd has again lashed out at Manny Pacquiao, to which Arum responded (rather clumsily), and now this. It's an eternal struggle. Or an eternal flame.
You know, I think since Floyd will be in jail, the Pacquiao vs Bradley fight week will be the first time in a while that either Manny or Floyd has fought and that week, the other one didn't butt into the news somehow. At least they're fighting so close together that nobody's announcing their next fight the same week, because that really steams the other side awful.
