Guerrero vs Aydin: Tickets on Sale May 4 For July 28 Fight in San Jose

Robert Guerrero will make his return to the ring on July 28 with a two-division weight jump, facing Turkey's Selcuk Aydin at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif., with the fight televised live on Showtime.

Tickets are on sale tomorrow, priced at $252, $127, $62, and $26, and can be purchased online at Ticketmaster.com, charged by phone at (800) 745-3000, or bought directly at the HP Pavilion ticket office.

Guerrero (29-1-1, 18 KO) hasn't fought since his April 2011 win over Michael Katsidis at lightweight, but is coming back to jump into the welterweight scene after his August fight against Marcos Maidana was canceled due to a Guerrero shoulder injury.

He's had surgery, rehabbed, and decided to skip the 140-pound division and chase the bigger money and bigger names. He'll start first with Aydin (23-0, 17 KO), a tough, credible fighter and certainly no gimme comeback fight.

It's also expected that the IBF junior middleweight title rematch between Cornelius Bundrage and Cory Spinks will be part of the show, as Golden Boy surprised everyone by bidding $211,000 (or $160,000 more than Don King) for the rights to the fight. Thus far, no other undercard fights have been inked, but you can expect the usual array of Golden Boy prospects and local fighters, probably. Since it's a Showtime card, that means there will be at least a couple of semi-interesting names involved for the Showtime Extreme portion of the televised broadcast.
