The August 4 fight between Wilfredo Vazquez Jr and Rafael Marquez has been postponed until October 6, with Marquez suffering an injury to his right hand in training camp. A press release sent out is confident that the fight will still take place, and even cites a similar situation back in 2010, when Marquez suffered a hand injury that postponed his fight with Juan Manuel Lopez for two months. That fight did still happen, and I expect this one will, too.

BoxingScene.com has photos of Marquez's injury, and it's legit. I don't think anyone should doubt the injury.

With the Cloud-Pascal fight being pushed back until October, too, the limited pro boxing schedule for August is pretty much decimated at this point until late in the month. The first two weekends have no major pro fights, but also do have the Olympics running, so there will still be plenty to watch and talk about.

Still, it's a bummer that another fight is pushed back. I guess the good news is that October should be BUMPIN' now, right? The October 6 date is tentative depending on the severity of the injury, but that's what they're targeting for now.
