WBC middleweight titlist Julio Cesar Chavez Jr will face Sergio Martinez on September 15 in Las Vegas, live on HBO pay-per-view, and the two fighters are getting the full "big fight" treatment from HBO, it appears. A "Face Off" special interview with Max Kellerman will debut on August 25 at 12:45 a.m. (that is, after midnight).
It could be quite a bit of fun, actually, as both Chavez and Martinez have talked some heavy-duty trash in the press conferences leading up to the bout. Both are threatening knockouts, and Sergio says that he'll return Julio Jr to his father unrecognizable, while Chavez has begged Sergio not to run. In response, Sergio has said we'll see who will be running on September 15.
Pretty standard stuff in text, but the mood between the two has been intense.
