The bantamweight gold medal match tomorrow in London is set. Here are today's semifinal results. Our live coverage continues here.

John Joe Nevin (Ireland) def. Lazaro Alvarez (Cuba), 19-14: What a brilliant performance from Nevin, who has been one of the top fighters of the Olympics. In this one, his aim was true with the right hand, and he simply was better than the World champion and top seed from Cuba. What an upset, and no doubt the fight of Nevin's life -- for now. He goes for gold tomorrow.

Luke Campbell (Great Britain) def. Satoshi Shimizu (Japan), 20-11: Campbell had probably his best showing here, but as crazy as it might sound considering he leaves with a bronze medal, Shimizu is really not all that great at amateur boxing. He's survived on big third rounds, and he didn't have one here, as Campbell was able to hold off any possible rallies. This was a good fight, too. Tomorrow's gold matchup should be electric.
