Four years ago in Beijing, Cuba's Roniel Iglesias went home with a bronze medal. This year in London, he's upgraded to gold, winning the light welterweight final today, 22-15 over Ukraine's Denys Berinchyk in a great display of boxing and fighting from both men.

Iglesias sealed the deal with a huge third round, taking it 11-6 and breaking down the hard-charging Berinchyk, who simply doesn't know how to have a boring fight. In all four of his London bouts, Berinchyk was an all-offense tank, and pitted against the quick, classy Cuban southpaw, we got a great style contrast that delivered the goods in terms of action.
It was Iglesias who proved the better man, but he had to work each second of the three-round fight to earn his gold medal. Berinchyk leaves with silver, while bronze medals go to Vincenzo Mangiacapre of Italy, and Munkh-Erdene Uranchimeg of Mongolia.
