Oscar De La Hoya pretended to be outraged earlier when he didn't make a Ring Magazine list of top Olympic boxers combined with pro success. Apparently people are acting like this is a story. Here's what he said:
I Was reading a story on#RINGTV.com on the "top 10 boxers with combined Olympic and pro success". I didn't even make the list?!?!?!
The funny thing is..... I own it!?
Well, if you really think about it, right, this must mean that The Ring is NOT biased toward Golden Boy fighters, Golden Boy fights, etc., because they made this list where Oscar could have arguably made the top ten, but he didn't, see, and now he "is mad!!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!?!?!?!???!?!?!?!?!?!" about it, but he's also pointing out that, whoa, The Ring is unbiased and not just in favor of Oscar, even though he owns it, so remember this forever when you consider the idea that maybe GBP fighters get preferential treatment from the magazine/web site.
Also, Bernard Hopkins is the greatest middleweight champion of all-time.
For the record, I have no major issue with The Ring. They do a good job over there with news and stuff, have some good feature articles, and maybe they're biased and maybe they're not. I don't really care. I think pretty much everyone is biased in one way or another. If they are, fine. I've never been that hung up on it. I just find this funny, as I find most things Oscar does to be funny. AT THE END OF THE DAY, IT IS WHAT IT IS, as RingTV.com favorite Victor Ortiz might say.
