[ London 2012 - Round of 32 Boxing Recap ]
Adilbek Niyazymbetov (Kazakhstan) def. Carlos Gongora (Ecuador), 13-5: I missed the first two rounds, pretty much, due to someone a little trigger happy on the tornado siren here. Heard the scoring was bad in the second round especially.
Ehsan Rouzbahani (Iran) def. Bahram Muzaffer (Turkey) , 18-12: Something of an upset here, Muzaffer was No. 6 seed. Good fight from Rouzbahani, and he sealed it with a 9-3 final round.
Oleksandr Gvozdyk (Ukraine) def. Osmar Bravo (Nicaragua), 18-6: Bravo was the only Nicaraguan fighter in the games, and now he's out. Gvozdyk looked here about as he did in the first. He's got zero flash, but he makes it look easy. He controls fights very well, does work at his own pace.
Abdelhafid Benchabla (Algeria) def. Enrico Kolling (Germany), 12-9: Competitive, but the right winner. To me, Benchabla and Gvozdyk look to be clear best two of this half of the bracket, which is weak overall, and frankly it's just a pretty weak weight class.
