Tonight at Midnight EDT on Solo Boxeo Tecate, live on Telefutura from the Texas Station in Las Vegas, unbeaten super featherweight contender Diego Magdaleno (22-0, 8 KO) will face faded veteran Antonio Davis (29-7, 13 KO) in a 12-round main event (it might actually be 10, we'll see).
Magdaleno, 25, has entered a lot of top 10s in the super featherweight division (including mine) but does still have some doubters who worry how he'll do when he steps up against top competition. Tonight won't be that fight, as Davis, 40, has been pretty well shot for a few years. In fact, it would be wise to expect an early night for Magdaleno.
On the undercard, top prospect Jose Benavidez (15-0, 12 KO) is in action in a six-round junior welterweight-ish bout against unbeaten Javier Loya (7-0, 6 KO). Both are Arizona natives.
Also in action, top marketing gimmick Mike Lee (9-0, 5 KO) is in a six-round light heavyweight-ish bout against Tyler Seever (13-11-1, 11 KO). Seever has built his record in Missouri and has been stopped eight times, so he's a perfect Mike Lee foil. But look at the guys in Notre Dame shirts cheer!!!
