Bernardo Osuna of ESPN caught up with Josesito Lopez, who faces Canelo Alvarez on Saturday night, live on Showtime.

Bernardo Osuna, ESPN: "Josesito, how do you feel as a headliner for the first time in Las Vegas on September 15?"

Josesito Lopez: "I feel excited. I feel good. Best thing of all, I'm ready. I'm prepared. I'm ready for the 15th."

Osuna: "You surprised the world once, as you said you would, against Victor Ortiz, canceling his plans to be here on September 15. Can you do it again against Canelo, and how do you plan on doing it?"

Lopez: "That's the plan. We've prepared great. We shocked the world once, but it's not over. We're prepared to shock the world one more time. We had a good training camp. We managed our weight well. We prepared with heavy, heavy sparring. So we're ready."

Osuna: "You were under the welterweight limit for that fight against Victor Ortiz in June. How much do you plan on weighing? And how do you counteract the weight advantage that Canelo's gonna have in the ring?"

Lopez: "For my last fight, I had four weeks notice. Four weeks to prepare. I was preparing for a fight at 140 pounds, so I didn't have time to get ready weight-wise. For this fight, I've had nine weeks to prepare. A lot different. Plenty of time to get a good nutritional plan, and our weight is up. We're on weight. We're ready to go."

Osuna: "What do you say to some of those fans, some of those experts, that believe this is a mismatch?"

Lopez: "Watch the fight. And then call it how it is after the fight."

Osuna: "What is it about you that gets your juices flowing about being an underdog?"

Lopez: "I love the position. I've bene in that position my whole life -- in boxing, in life in general. It's good. When you can get through the fight and surprise the people, and really let them know what you're made of, that's the excitement."
