Richard Abril and Sharif Bogere are set to square off for the vacant WBA lightweight title on November 3 at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, with Showtime televising the fight as a "special" Saturday night edition of ShoBox: The New Generation.

It's hard to tell, at least for me, what to expect of this fight right now. Bogere (23-0, 15 KO) can be a pretty entertaining fighter to watch, but Abril (17-3-1, 8 KO) is an awkward technician with an ugly style capable of shutting down exciting fighters, as he proved in his April 14 robbery loss to Brandon Rios in Las Vegas.

You might recall that Abril was set to face Gavin Rees in the UK for the vacant title, but Golden Boy got their paws on this and were able to have Bogere approved for the title shot instead, despite the fact that Abril and Rees are ranked 1-2, while Bogere is No. 3 in the WBA rankings.

What can you do? That's how boxing changes for the better, from the good guys who love the fans and are here to clean up the sport!

But anyway, this is a decent fight that might be fun to watch and might be total crap, but the good news is they're both pretty legit contenders in a division that is going through chay-een-geeeeee-e-yeeeeeeees.
