Canelo vs Lopez Video: Full Fight Highlights

Canelo Alvarez scored a dominant and frankly fairly easy win over Josesito Lopez on Saturday night, live on Showtime from a rowdy MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Some of you may not have seen the fight yet, but here are some highlights at least:

Canelo (41-0-1, 30 KO) just had no trouble with Lopez (30-5, 18 KO), who admitted after the fight that he was just too small in the ring with Alvarez.

The focus now is what's next for Canelo, who has called out Miguel Cotto and Floyd Mayweather. Neither of those fights will happen until next year, as Cotto is fighting Austin Trout on December 1, and Mayweather appears likely to sit out the remainder of 2012.

Canelo could fight again in December, as he prefers staying active and probably won't want to sit and wait until February or March 2013 for his next bout. It's possible he could fight on December 15, as Showtime is open that night, while HBO will be running Timothy Bradley vs TBA, reportedly.

He could also fight on December 22 -- usually big-name fighters don't fight that close to Christmas, and HBO and SHO rarely ever run a show that late in the year, but it's an option, anyway.
