50 Cent and Pacquiao 'just talking,' according to Manny

Rumors of Manny Pacquiao and 50 Cent starting a promotional company together persist, but the Filipino star says the two are just talking business for now.

Manny Pacquiao and Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson are "just talking" at the moment, according to Manny, who as you can see above, was "just talking" with 50 at today's press conference for the Pacquiao vs Marquez IV announcement.

The idea of the two combining forces to run a boxing promotional outfit was reported on Thursday, which pretty well stunned just about everyone. 50's original idea, TMT Promotions -- which was expected to be a 50 Cent/Floyd Mayweather joint venture -- appears to be dead, but he's not getting out of the boxing game before ever really entering, as was initially figured to be the case when Billy Dib's contract was assigned to Mayweather Promotions.

Nothing concrete has come out of this yet, of course, and there's a decent chance that it won't go anywhere. It would have to make sense for both sides, which I assume is part of what 50 and Team Pacquiao are "just talking" about.

Whatever the issue is between 50 Cent and Mayweather is really none of my business, and I don't care to speculate -- you can find "information" regarding all of that anywhere, but they haven't been outwardly hostile or anything, saying nice things about one another in radio interviews and the like, and basically just trying to keep it between themselves for now.

But this is about boxing, and if 50 and Pacquiao team up together, then there could be something there, boxing-wise. 50 says he wants to make a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight a reality instead of the four-year dream it has been, and that's a good enough goal for me.

Also worth mentioning, I suppose, is that 50 Cent did attend the Chavez Jr vs Martinez fight on Saturday night in Las Vegas.
