Amir Khan is expected to return on December 15, and is expected to be moving to Showtime with his HBO deal expired. Richard Schaefer of Golden Boy Promotions tells RingTV.com that an official announcement of all the details - including the opponent - will come tomorrow:
"An announcement as it relates to Amir Khan's opponent, the site and the date is imminent. What I'm working on finalizing later tonight or early tomorrow is Amir Khan, and we have his opponent locked in," said Schaefer.
"We will be announcing that shortly, either later on tonight or early tomorrow. We will also be announcing the television network Amir Khan will be working with. That's all going to be announced within the next 24 hours."
Khan, who will be working with new trainer Virgil Hunter for the fight, has been attached to a rematch with Paul McCloskey, and McCloskey's team said today that they would need details finalized very soon in order to get their fighter a proper training camp.
McCloskey fought on September 22, beating Manuel Perez in Belfast, but didn't look great in doing so. Khan beat McCloskey via technical decision in 2011, in a fairly forgettable fight that wasn't very competitive at all.
