Two September cards have undergone slight transformations in the last couple of days, with HBO's September 29 show and the September 21 event on NBC Sports both losing fights, and replacing them.

The 9/29 HBO show, promoted by Lou DiBella (among others), will still feature Edwin Rodriguez vs Jason Escalera and Luis Orlando Del Valle vs Vic Darchinyan. But when Zsolt Erdei broke his ribs in training, his fight with Isaac Chilemba was called off.

That fight has been replaced by a welterweight bout pitting prospect Alex Perez (16-0, 10 KO) against Quebec's Antonin Decarie (26-1, 9 KO). It's a fair replacement all in all, with six-foot southpaw Perez an intriguing (if old, at 30) prospect, and Decarie a solid operator who figures to be a step up for Perez at the very least.

Light heavyweight contender Gabriel Campillo has also come down with an injury that has forced him out of a scheduled fight with Sergey Kovalev on September 21 in Pennsylvania. There was some talk between the promoters about getting Kovalev into the ring with Chilemba, which would have been good for both of them, but that didn't get far with either of the networks.

Instead, Kovalev (18-0-1, 16 KO) will face Lionell Thompson (12-1, 8 KO) on the show, which is now officially headlined by the junior middleweight bout between Gabriel Rosado and veteran Charles Whittaker.
