Rico Ramos faces Ronny Rios in tonight's ShoBox main event, as former 122-pound world titlist Ramos looks to get into the mix at featherweight. The NABF (WBC affiliation) title is on the line for the 10-round bout.
Ramos (21-1, 11 KO) has fought just once since being totally shut down by Guillermo Rigondeaux a year ago. He won a summer bout against Efrain Esquivas, exerting a bit more energy than he might have hoped to get past the prospect, who then went on to be shut out by Jonathan Romero in his next bout.
Rios (19-0, 9 KO) has been a somewhat quiet prospect at 126-130 pounds, most recently beating David Rodela in July.
In the co-feature, junior middleweight prospect Daquan Arnett (9-0, 6 KO) will face fellow unbeaten Brandon Quarles (9-0-1, 2 KO). Though neither fighter has lost as a pro, Arnett is considered the prospect and Quarles, a Virginian, the opponent in this fight.
Showtime is free this weekend, so tune in even if you're not normally a subscriber. Bonus boxing!
