Antonio Tarver returns November 26 on FOX Sports 1

Fearing that the new series had not become bad enough, Golden Boy has booked 45-year-old Antonio Tarver a comeback main event on FOX Sports 1 against a club fighter.

Golden Boy Live! ain't nothin' but a bigger-name version of Fight Night Club and a place where brands can be activated, it would appear, as they've added another lousy fight to their FOX Sports 1 schedule, with Antonio Tarver returning to action to face Mike Sheppard on November 26 in Sunrise, Florida, where Golden Boy will activate their deal with the BB&T Center. Activations. Sponsors.

Tarver (29-6, 20 KO) hasn't fought since June 2012, when he worked with Golden Boy for a headline fight on Showtime, a four-fight evening that went from dream to nightmare in a hurry, ending with the aged Tarver and Lateef Kayode going to a draw. Tarver then failed a post-fight drug test for steroids and was suspended for a year. In turn, he was also relieved of his duties as a commentator at Showtime Sports.

Impressed by the way that all went down, apparently, Golden Boy is hooking up with Tarver as he nears 45 (his birthday is November 21) so that we can all see him face Mike Sheppard (21-15-1, 9 KO), a 38-year-old club pug who's been stopped 11 times in his career. Thrilling.
