Devon Alexander and Leo Santa Cruz will be back in action on November 30 at the Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio, headlining a Showtime-televised doubleheader with their world titles on the line.
In the main event, Alexander (25-1, 14 KO) will face Shawn Porter (22-0-1, 14 KO) for the IBF welterweight title. Alexander is making the second defense of that belt, which he won from Randall Bailey in a lousy fight last October, and defended against short notice scrapper Lee Purdy in May of this year, winning easily.
Alexander had been in negotiations to fight Amir Khan on December 7, but that fell through when Khan's side basically pulled out and decided to target a May bout with Floyd Mayweather instead of risking that on an interim fight against Alexander, though Khan's team denies that's what happened.
Porter, 25, has scored a pair of wins this year over Phil Lo Greco and Julio Diaz, the latter making up for a draw against Diaz last December.
Santa Cruz (25-0-1, 15 KO) will make the first defense of his WBC super bantamweight title against Cesar Seda Jr (25-1, 17 KO). Seda is probably best known for a 2011 loss to super flyweight titleholder Omar Narvaez.
