Manny Pacquiao and Brandon Rios are undergoing VADA drug testing as scheduled, according to a report at RingTV.com, which quotes the organization's founder, Dr. Margaret Goodman.
"I confirm that both fighters have been tested by VADA. The results that we get go directly to the fighter, or to whomever he designates from his camp. They go to the promoter, which is obviously Top Rank, the China Commission, and it goes to the Association of Boxing Commissions," said Goodman.
Goodman says the fighters can release the results to the public if they want, but that VADA will not, and I'd expect Top Rank would not, either.
Pacquiao (54-5-2, 38 KO) has long had a cloud, fair or not, hanging over him and the subject of performance-enhancing drugs. Some see the insistence on USADA testing being the biggest reason that Mayweather-Pacquiao never happened, and while it may not be THE biggest, it's definitely a big reason, at least in the first couple negotiations, or whatever you'd call them.
VADA has worked with Top Rank twice this year on Bradley-Provodnikov and Donaire-Rigondeaux.
