Hopkins vs Murat weight-in results: Everyone good to go for Showtime tripleheader

Bernard Hopkins, Karo Murat, and the undercard fighters were on weight for tomorrow night's Showtime tripleheader.

Bernard Hopkins weighed in at 172½ pounds, while challenger Karo Murat came in at 174 for tomorrow night's IBF light heavyweight title main event on Showtime, meaning the Atlantic City card is good to go.

Hopkins, 48, made a point to tell Richard Schaefer twice after the weights were announced that he could still make middleweight if he wants to, perhaps still angling for a fight with Floyd Mayweather, which he says he would do at 160 pounds, a weight he hasn't made in about a decade.

Murat (25-1-1, 15 KO) looked lean and ready, but is considered a shot-in-the-dark underdog at best, a back-end top ten guy at 175 pounds who will simply be overmatched against a modern master. Hopkins (53-6-2, 32 KO) is expected by all to win, and also says he plans to end his KO drought, as he aims to knock out Murat, which would be B-Hop's first stoppage win since 2004.

Peter Quillin (29-0, 21 KO) and Gabriel Rosado (21-6, 13 KO) also were on weight for their WBO middleweight title clash, with Quillin defending for the second time. The two of them talked a lot of trash during their staredown, then both gave some more trash talk to Steve Farhood in their interviews after hitting the scales.

Quillin came in at 159¼, with Rosado at 160.

The night's opening Showtime bout will see Deontay Wilder (29-0, 29 KO) take on Nicolai Firtha (21-10-1, 8 KO) in a 10-round heavyweight fight few expect to see the fourth round. Wilder weighed in at 224 while eating strawberry shortcake. Firtha came in at 252½.
