Golovkin vs Stevens, Marquez vs Segura, Luke Campbell, more: Boxing TV schedule for Oct. 28-Nov. 2

Monday, October 28

FOX Sports 1 / FOX Deportes, 10:00 pm EDT, Manuel Avila vs Jose Angel Cota, Paul Mendez vs Louis Rose, Jonathan Chicas vs Joaquin Chavez. This is their worst card yet. Maybe it will be "fun"! They've made clear this series is going to be irrelevant unless you're someone dying to tune in to club fights on a Monday night. That's fine and all, but it's just another insignificant boxing series.

Friday, November 1

Eurosport (UK), 3:00 pm EDT, Juan Carlos Gomez vs Adnan Buharalija, Alexander Petkovic vs Chupaki Chipindi.

Saturday, November 2

Sky Sports 2 (UK), 3:00 pm EDT, Luke Campbell vs Lee Connelly, Lucas Browne vs Richard Towers, Tommy Coyle vs John Simpson. The fights are in Hull, which is why Campbell is the headliner. Also because he's the biggest star on the show. But it's a solid little card. Browne-Towers should feature a knockout either way, and Coyle-Simpson is decent.

HBO / SAT1 (DEU) / PPV (AUS), 10:00 pm EDT, Gennady Golovkin vs Curtis Stevens, Magomed Abdusalamov vs Mike Perez. This is a nice doubleheader, even if it lacks "star power." Golovkin-Stevens might not last 30 seconds, but someone's gonna get thumped in this one. Abdusalamov-Perez is a very meaningful heavyweight prospect fight; the winner could be in line for a big fight, the loser takes a big step back. Abdusalamov is powerful but has shown a lot of flaws and vulnerabilities. Perez seems, at least to me, to be the better, more complete fighter. I won't be in on Saturday for live coverage as I'll be taking a rare Saturday night to socialize with other human beings, but there will be live coverage, as Brent Brookhouse is stepping in. BLH will have live coverage.

UniMas / TV Azteca (MEX), 11:00 pm EDT, Tyson Marquez vs Giovani Segura, Juan Carlos Sanchez Jr vs Zolani Tete. Marquez-Segura is also a really good fight on paper, and Sanchez was a titleholder at 115, so if you can't watch both live (and no one really can, not well anyway), this is worth a DVR appointment for sure.

Televisa (MEX), 11:00 pm EDT, Irma Garcia vs Magali Rodriguez, Yazmin Rivas vs Jessica Gonzalez, Andres Gutierrez vs Ernie Sanchez.

TyC Sports (ARG), 11:00 pm EDT, Victoria Noela Bustos vs Roxana Beatriz Laborde.
