But to receive title shots you do generally have to beat rated contenders first...

As BLH #9 bantamweight Jamoye was upset and lost his EBU title, he'll drop out of the October rankings (coming out next week). Overall Guerfi kept a tighter guard and had better timing and accuracy. Footwork didn't really play a significant part in this fight for either fighter. If you like to see 2 guys stand in front of each other while throwing bombs, this is the fight for you.

Guerfi plays the role of a mover eventually if you like that style of fighting as well, but it's like he basically did it out of boredom. He beat Jamoye at his own game and it wouldn't surprise me if the fight only got tighter when he allowed Jamoye to chase him around the ring (not because Jamoye was doing it well, but because people can't score).

For me, Jamoye is the most consistently entertaining fighter in boxing today. I call him the Belgian Gatti. He may be down now but he'll be back... Anyways, Guerfi's modest record advanced to 20-3.
