Tonight at 9:00 pm EST on HBO pay-per-view and streaming online at Top Rank TV, Manny Pacquiao returns to the ring for the first and only time in 2013, facing fearless brawler Brandon Rios in the main event of the first-ever HBO PPV card from Macao.
Pacquiao (54-5-2, 38 KO) is the favorite, and six of seven BLH staffers are predicting that he'll win. But Rios (31-1-1, 23 KO) is a dangerous opponent, particularly if anything is still lingering mentally for Pacquiao from his last fight, a KO-6 loss to Juan Manuel Marquez, 11 months ago.
The undercard isn't very good, but we'll talk about it and report on it anyway. Zou Shiming (2-0) faces Juan Tozcano (4-0, 1 KO) in a six-round flyweight bout; Felix Verdejo (8-0, 6 KO) takes on Petchsamuthr Duanaaymukdahan (8-1, 1 KO) in a six-round junior welterweight bout; heavyweights Andy Ruiz Jr (20-0, 14 KO) and Tor Hamer (21-2, 14 KO) are scheduled for 10 rounds; and IBF featherweight titlist Evgeny Gradovich (17-0, 8 KO) defends against Billy Dib (36-2, 21 KO) in a rematch.
