Andy Ruiz Jr had a good round against Tor Hamer, so Tor Hamer quit after four rounds.

Andy Ruiz Jr didn't start so hot, but he turned up the heat enough to get Tor Hamer to call it a night after four rounds, and it's now time to wonder if Hamer might as well just retire from the sport.

This is the second time we've seen Hamer (21-3, 14 KO) just flat-out quit in a fight after four rounds, doing the same against Vyacheslav Glazkov. I've heard others say that Hamer, once a hyped NYC prospect, is simply too nice a guy to go very far in the fight game, and that may indeed be the case. I'm not trying to say that Hamer is a coward or be overly critical, but if four rounds against Ruiz and Glazkov is enough to get him to quit in a fight, why even keep fighting? What's the upside?

Ruiz (21-0, 15 KO) was easy to hit early but made adjustments, and his handspeed was too much for Hamer. Despite his physical appearance, Ruiz is talented and worth watching as a heavyweight. Flab or not, he's a lot better than Seth Mitchell ever was.
