Robert Garcia: 'Maidana hits hard, so that's a big risk Broner is taking'

Marcos Maidana looks to win a welterweight title this Saturday against the talented, confident, young Adrien Broner. Does the Argentinean slugger have what it takes to knock off a rising star?

Scott Christ is the managing editor of Bad Left Hook and has been covering boxing for SB Nation since 2006.

Robert Garcia, Trainer

"Maidana hits hard. So that's a big, big risk that Adrien Broner is taking. Maidana has tremendous heart, he can take a punch. He's gonna come right after him and he's gonna throw punches and he's gonna be able to take a punch."

This Saturday night from the Alamodome in San Antonio and live on Showtime in the network's final boxing broadcast of 2013, Argentina's welterweight brawler Marcos Maidana (34-3, 31 KO) gets a shot at the WBA title when he faces much-celebrated, loved, and hated rising star Adrien "The Problem" Broner (27-0, 22 KO) in a fight that sees Broner take the biggest risk of his pro career to date.

BLH will have further coverage on Broner-Maidana and the undercard bouts leading up to Saturday's fight card. If you missed the first episode of All Access, we've got you covered for that, too. Just click here, and you can watch the show, which again, I recommend, to my own surprise.
