Adrien Broner and Marcos Maidana made weight today in San Antonio for tomorrow night's WBA welterweight title clash on Showtime at the Alamodome. Broner (27-0, 22 KO) was in at a light 144.4 pounds, indicating that he made weight very easily and could likely still fight below the welterweight limit. Maidana (34-3, 31 KO) weighed in at 146.2 pounds, with Broner yapping at him while he was on the scale.
Welterweights Keith Thurman (21-0, 19 KO) and Jesus Soto Karass (28-8-3, 18 KO) comfortably made weight for their 12-round welterweight battle, with the winner hoping to target the Broner-Maidana winner next. Thurman weighed in at 145.8, with Soto Karass at 146.2.
Leo Santa Cruz (25-0-1, 15 KO) will defend his WBC super bantamweight title against Puerto Rico's Cesar Seda (27-1, 15 KO). Santa Cruz weighed in at 121.4 and Seda at 121.6 for the 122-pound fight.
Beibut Shumenov (13-1, 8 KO) weighed in at the division limit of 175 pounds to defend his WBA light heavyweight title against Tamas Kovacs (23-0, 14 KO), who came in at 174.4.
