Broner vs Maidana: Live streaming results and round-by-round coverage

Adrien Broner faces Marcos Maidana in the headline bout of a four-fight main card from the Alamodome as Showtime closes out a strong 2013.

Tom Casino/SHOWTIME

Tonight starting a 6:00 pm EST on Showtime Extreme with prelim fights and continuing at 8:00 pm EST with the four-fight main card on Showtime, the Alamodome will play host to the final Showtime boxing event of 2013, featuring Adrien Broner defending his WBA welterweight title against Marcos Maidana in the main event.

Broner (27-0, 22 KO) moved up two divisions on June 22 to narrowly outpoint Paulie Malignaggi in Brooklyn and win the title, while Maidana (34-3, 31 KO) was last seen on June 8, stopping Josesito Lopez in the sixth round. This is a highly-anticipated fight, as it its the increasingly infamous Broner against a serious puncher. There is some believe that Broner could be exposed by Maidana's power. There is also plenty of belief that Broner will simply outclass Maidana and prove himself an elite fighter.

Undercard

Keith Thurman (21-0, 19 KO) and Jesus Soto Karass (28-8-3, 18 KO) headline the undercard action, with the winner hoping to face the Broner-Maidana winner sometime in 2014, though it's no guarantee that this will happen. Also on the Showtime broadcast, Leo Santa Cruz (25-0-1, 15 KO) defends the WBC super bantamweight title against Cesar Seda (27-1, 15 KO), and Beibut Shumenov (13-1, 8 KO) puts his WBA light heavyweight belt up against Tamas Kovacs (23-0, 14 KO).

On Showtime Extreme, we'll see Canelo Alvarez's older brother Ricardo Alvarez (22-2-3, 14 KO) face Rod Salka (18-2, 3 KO) in a 10-round junior welterweight bout, and lightweight prospect Robert Easter (7-0, 7 KO) will take on Hardy Paredes (16-12, 10 KO) in an eight-round fight.
