Bad Left Hook will be here beginning at 4:00 pm EST for live, round-by-round coverage of the main event from Stuggart, Germany, as Darren Barker hits the road to defend his IBF middleweight title against former three-time titleholder Felix Sturm.
Barker (26-1, 16 KO) won the belt in August from Daniel Geale, when the two met on neutral ground in Atlantic City. The biggest money fight available was a fight with Sturm (38-3-2, 17 KO) in Germany, as risky as a proposition as that might be.
Barker, 31, has looked a newly-determined fighter since he returned to the ring after a long layoff last December, decimating Kerry Hope and then Simone Rotolo before outpointing Geale in a competitive, high-level fight to win his first world title.
Sturm, 34, is past his best but can still fight, and he's a dangerous first foe for Barker on paper, even if he may not be in his prime any longer. If nothing else, home field advantaeg is in his favor.
Join us this afternoon as Darren Barker looks to cement his place as a top middleweight, and Felix Sturm looks to get back into the top-level mix.
