Omar Henry dead at age 25 after battle with gall bladder cancer

Omar Henry (12-0, 9 KO) has passed away at the age of 25 following a brief battle with gall bladder cancer.

When Omar Henry pulled out of his ShoBox fight last November, I don't believe anyone expected this was even possible. However, Omar passed away earlier today at the age of 25 following a brief battle with gall bladder cancer.

Henry, a highly regarded prospect with a 12-0 record, pulled out of his fight in November with what was thought to be gall stones. It turned out that Henry was actually dealing with stage-4 gall bladder cancer.

Today his Facebook profile was updated with the following:

To all of Omar's loyal fans and friends today Omar has made peace with our savior God and joined him in heaven. Thank you all for your prayers and support. And please let's continue the name Omar Henry because that's what he would want

2/8/1987-2/1/2013 R.I.P Omar D Henry

The situation is made only more heartbreaking reading this post from his page just last month:

I got exactly less than 1 month left until my 26th birthday February 8. Hopefully I live to see it. I really have been getting a lot of support with kind words and prayers from all over the world with this battle with cancer. Thank you and I will continue to fight for us!!!!

I'm sure I speak for everyone on the Bad Left Hook team when I say our thoughts and well-wishes are with Omar's friends and family at this time.
