The rematch between Carl Froch and Mikkel Kessler has been confirmed and made 100% official for May 25 at the O2 Arena in London, clearing up for good the fight's date and venue.
Froch (30-2, 22 KO) and Kessler (46-2, 35 KO) have been working on this rematch for weeks now, and are delivering what is probably the best and most significant fight at 168 pounds, now that division top dog Andre Ward is on the shelf. If they can repeat the fireworks they produced in 2010, when they met in the best bout of the entire Super Six World Boxing Classic, fans are in for a treat.
That time, Kessler had home field advantage in Denmark, and Froch believes that's what gave the Danish star the edge on the judges' scorecards. This time, it will be Froch who has the friendly turf, and it's Froch who is riding the larger wave of momentum, it would appear.
