Tonight after Friday Night Fights, ShoBox: The New Generation returns on Showtime with a doubleheader, led by super featherweight prospect Art Hovhannisyan, who will meet Alejandro Perez in the main event.
Hovhannisyan (15-0-2, 8 KO) has built a little buzz from past ShoBox appearances, and is an entertaining, 31-year-old Armenian scrapper fighting out of Glendale, California, who is also known for his association with friend and MMA superstar Ronda Rousey. Perez (16-3-1, 11 KO) has past notable losses to Rico Ramos and Diego Magdaleno, and hasn't fought in a year.
In the co-feature, Bahamian middleweight Tureano Johnson (13-0, 10 KO) will face Detroit's Willie Fortune (15-0, 7 KO) in an eight-round bout. Neither fighter has faced even remotely serious competition to this point, and at 29 and 31 respectively, are looking to make a mark with the ShoBox opportunity.
Join us at 11 pm EST for the show, as we continue a busy weekend of live coverage that continues tomorrow.
