Wilfredo Vazquez Jr, Rocky Martinez, and Diego Magdaleno have been added to the discussions for Top Rank's big April 6 venture into Macau, according to BoxingScene.com, potentially adding more solid names to an already solid show.
We already know that the show will feature Brian Viloria vs Juan Francisco Estrada in the main event, plus the pro debut of two-time Olympic gold medalist Zou Shiming of China, and flyweight contender Milan Melindo in action. Vanes Martirosyan vs Javier Maciel has also been rumored, and adding these new names to the mix could make for quite a night of action.
Vazquez (22-2-1, 19 KO) would be defending his WBO International super bantamweight trinket against Japan's Yasutaka Ishimoto (21-6, 5 KO), while Martinez and Magdaleno would face one another. Martinez-Magdaleno seems like a fight that could be added to any number of U.S. TV cards, though, so it might be wise to expect that to not land on the Macau show, but Ryan Burton says it's being "seriously discussed" for the event.
In a way, this now seems like one of those Frank Warren shows where he's going to have all of his top guys competing at the same event, so it's probably a smart move to go ahead and expect some of this to not happen.
