According to Mike Coppinger at BoxingScene.com, a middleweight fight between prospect J'Leon Love and Gabriel Rosado is close to done for the Mayweather vs Guerrero undercard, which will air on Showtime pay-per-view.
Love (15-0, 8 KO) is a 25-year-old prospect in the Mayweather camp, who would be taking a pretty nice step up in competition. Last time out, he beat veteran Derrick Findley, a solid, tough trial horse, but he had some moments of mild distress in the fight, and has shown some weaknesses. Beyond Findley, he hasn't been tested at all.
Rosado (21-6, 13 KO) is familiar with the role he'd fill in this fight. He came up short in January against Gennady Golovkin, but earned a lot of praise for his effort. The 27-year-old Philly native would be by far the best fighter that Love has faced to date, and on paper, has a good opportunity to potentially notch a notable win here.
It's sort of a sink-or-swim matchup for Love, which is good. He's still got some doubters and a lot to prove, and if he can get by Rosado, it's a good push forward for his career. If Rosado wins, he's back on track.
