Stieglitz-Abraham III likely, says Kalle Sauerland

Promoter Kalle Sauerland says that there will probably be a third meeting between Robert Stieglitz and Arthur Abraham, who have split a pair of fights.

Following this weekend's rematch, where Robert Stieglitz regained the WBO super middleweight title from Arthur Abraham via stoppage after three rounds due to an eye injury, promoter Kalle Sauerland says that "everything points to" a third fight between the two:

"The score is 1-1, and everything is pointing for the need of a third fight. I think [the third] fight could be even better. We are pleased to carry out a third. By the way, Robert himself said the same thing after the [rematch]," Sauerland said.

Stieglitz (44-3, 25 KO) and Abraham (36-4, 28 KO) are well-matched, both solidly in the second tier of the super middleweight division. Their first fight, which Abraham won last August by decision, was competitive and plenty of fun to watch, while the rematch definitely still left some questions to be answered. They make for solid fights and they're on the same level. Really, I see no issue with the idea of a third fight; they're probably the best available opponents for one another.
