As expected, BoxNation has finalized a deal to carry this Saturday night's rematch between Brandon Rios and Mike Alvarado, airing the fight live and exclusive for viewers in the United Kingdom.
Rios (31-0-1, 23 KO) stopped Alvarado (33-1, 23 KO) last October in a thrilling fight that lived up to Fight of the Year-level expectations, and the rematch is expected to be another war. Rios is the pretty clear favorite to repeat, but Alvarado definitely had moments of advantage in the first bout, which was competitive until Rios poured on major pressure.
In the featured undercard bout, junior welterweight fringe contender Breidis Prescott (26-4, 20 KO) will face unbeaten Nebraska prospect Terence Crawford (19-0, 15 KO).
HBO will air the Top Rank-promoted card in the United States, starting at 10:15 pm EDT. We'll have more on Rios-Alvarado II in the coming days, leading up to live coverage on Saturday night, and immediate post-fight results. Stick with us!
