Brandon Rios and Mike Alvarado waged war last October, and fight fans are hoping for a repeat in terms of action tonight, as the two hook up again, this time in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay. HBO will begin their broadcast at 10:15 pm EDT, with Azteca carrying the show in Mexico, and BoxNation in the UK.
Rios (31-0-1, 23 KO) stopped Alvarado (33-1, 23 KO) in the seventh round last time, though some felt that the stoppage came a bit early, even though Alvarado was clearly reeling and in some trouble. Both fighters landed numerous big punches over the course of the fight, with Rios' iron chin and pressure eventually breaking down Alvarado, who lost for the first time as a pro.
Alvarado says he plans to box more tonight, but Rios isn't convinced that Alvarado can keep that promise, and says he'll do what he always does: Attack, attack, attack.
In the co-feature, Breidis Prescott (26-4, 20 KO) will face Terence Crawford (19-0, 15 KO) in another 140-pound fight.
BLH will be here with live coverage and immediate results for both fights, so join us for a must-see main event!
