Hugo Centeno Jr puts his undefeated record on the line against Alabama's Keandre Leatherwood tonight on ShoBox: The New Generation, which goes live on Showtime at 11 pm EST.
Centeno (17-0, 9 KO) is a Golden Boy fighter, a 22-year-old junior middleweight prospect who has been solid thus far in his pro career. Leatherwood (12-1-1, 8 KO) is a 24-year-old who has fought mostly at middleweight over his brief career, and has no quality wins on his record. When he fought prospect John Jackson in 2011, he was stopped in six, he went to a six-round draw with a club fighter after that. This fight is set for 10 rounds.
As you can see in the photo up top, Centeno has a significant height advantage. They're listed at 6'1" and 5'10". Someone is fibbing. To be perfectly frank, this looks like a safe showcase fight for Centeno.
In the co-feature, super featherweight prospect Braulio Santos (9-0, 8 KO) of Puerto Rico will face 22-year-old California Kevin Hoskins (7-1, 5 KO). Hoskins was knocked out two fights ago.
