Today at 3 pm EST on Sky Sports in the UK, Darren Barker, Lee Purdy, and George Groves are featured in what will likely be showcase bouts at Wembley Arena, with Groves making his debut under the Matchroom Boxing banner.

Barker (24-1, 15 KO) will be in the main event slot, facing Italian middleweight Simone Rotolo (35-3, 15 KO) in a 12-round bout with a vacant IBF regional belt on the line. Barker, 30, is trying to work his way back into the world title scene, and is fighting for the second time in about three months, following a destructive December win over Kerry Hope. That was Barker's first fight since October 2011.

Purdy (19-3-1, 12 KO) was originally slated to face Carson Jones, but Jones withdrew from the fight, and has been replaced by Mexican veteran Cosme Rivera (35-15-3, 24 KO). Rivera can still punch a little, and gives a good effort, but Purdy, 25, has been on a nice little run. This could be a very good action fight.

Groves (16-0, 12 KO) signed with Matchroom this past Monday, leaving Frank Warren, and he's hitting the ring today for a pure stay-busy fight against Argentina's Dario German Balmaceda (11-6-2, 7 KO). This is the kind of opponent you just have to go international for. There is nobody in the UK who could have filled this role quite like Dario German Balmaceda. Hopefully, it will give Jim Watt the chance to say that Argentinean fighters are tough and can surprise you.
