Tony Bellew and Isaac Chilemba went to a draw on March 30 in Liverpool, with both men feeling they'd had a victory stolen from them by the judges. The two will get back into the ring quickly, as a rematch is set for May 25, as part of the Sky Box Office undercard for Froch-Kessler II.
Bellew (19-1-1, 12 KO) and Chilemba (20-1-2, 9 KO) are fighting to become the mandatory challenger for the WBC light heavyweight title. Chad Dawson will defend against Adonis Stevenson on June 8 in Montreal, and the fights would line up nicely for the winners to square off later this year, perhaps in the fall.
Promoter Eddie Hearn says that fight could come in September, and also feels that "both men were reasonably poor" in their March 30 bout, and he's hoping to see a better performance from both, but particularly, of course, from his fighter Bellew.
Also featured on the undercard will be George Groves, who does not yet have an opponent, so expect little.
