Floyd Mayweather's fight with Robert Guerrero last Saturday didn't quite do business up to his normal standards, but the gate was far from a failure, pulling in $9.9 million in sales.
14,258 tickets were sold for the event with 1,459 tickets comped, for an exact gate total of $9,922,350.
Mayweather (44-0, 26 KO) cruised to a 12-round decision over Guerrero (31-2-1, 18 KO) to retain his WBC welterweight title. Abner Mares, Leo Santa Cruz, and J'Leon Love won on the pay-per-view undercard.
Earlier today, Richard Schaefer of Golden Boy said that the fight would come in a little over one million buys on pay-per-view, despite underperforming with the Hispanic market, in his words.
The gate is the fifth-highest of Mayweather's career, behind, in order, his fights with Oscar De La Hoya, Miguel Cotto, Shane Mosley, and Ricky Hatton. It's also the 16th highest gate in Nevada history, where De La Hoya-Mayweather still holds the top spot, as it does in pay-per-view sales.
