Heavyweight contender David Haye has postponed his scheduled June 29 bout with Manuel Charr after suffering a hand injury in training. The fight was to be Haye's return to Sky Sports, as well as his debut under the Matchroom Boxing banner.
"I'm absolutely gutted to have to pull out of this fight on June 29," he said. "I pick up injuries now and again in training, and sometimes carry them into fights, but this was one I simply couldn't recover from in time. I need to rest it up for at least four weeks.
"I apologise to Manuel Charr and to everybody involved with the promotion. But most of all I want to say sorry to the thousands of fans who bought tickets to the fight."
Haye (26-2, 24 KO) hasn't fought since July of last year, when he knocked out Dereck Chisora in a grudge match in front of a big house at Upton Park.
The undercard, which has Gavin Rees vs Anthony Crolla and the return of Lee Selby, will be moved to another Matchroom show.
