Mosley vs Cano: Fighters make weight for Cancun main event

Shane Mosley and Pablo Cesar Cano are good to go for tomorrow night's main event in Cancun, Mexico, to be televised on FOX Deportes.

41-year-old Shane Mosley steps down in competition for his return to the ring tomorrow night in Cancun, Mexico, headlining a FOX Deportes-televised card against 23-year-old Pablo Cesar Cano in the welterweight division.

Mosley, who has won world titles at 135, 147, and 154 pounds over his terrific career, hasn't won a fight since 2009, but aims to stop that 0-3-1 skid by taking lower aim this time out. Cano (26-2-1, 20 KO) has losses to Paulie Malignaggi (debated) and Erik Morales, while Mosley (46-8-1, 39 KO) is hoping there's still at least a little spark left to get him over the hump tomorrow night, and continue his career at least at this level.

The veteran former champ weighed in at 146.8 pounds for the fight, with Cano at 146. In the televised co-feature, lightweight Sergio Thompson (26-2, 24 KO) came in at 135 pounds. He'll be facing short-notice opponent Gustavo Sandoval (13-4-1, 11 KO), who weighed in at 133.4.
