I am fairly confident in saying that this is by far the worst weekend of boxing that hasn't come on a Christmas weekend since we started keeping the TV schedules going weekly. There is nothing of any significant interest televised this weekend. There's not even a Friday Night Fights.
There will be a thread on Friday for the BoxNation card, but that's it. I don't know if I'll watch. I might. It's not a bad card for a Friday afternoon. But that's all the live coverage we will do this weekend. I'd love to do more, by which I mean I'd love it if there were anything on that was remotely interesting beyond, "Oh, look, Tyson Marquez against an old dude that won a title once, hooray!" or "Oh, man, let's pretend to take Teon Kennedy seriously again." But it's really not worth the time I could be spending playing four-person Scrabble against myself, sharpening my word skills, because I'm not going to lie to you: I mostly don't give a hot damn about anything going on in any of these fights. I gotta keep it real, you guys.
Bad Left Hook's Ryan Bivins however does care, will be live on the scene for Kennedy-Vinan, and considers Bopp-Chavez to be a pretty high profile fight in women's boxing.
