Leo Santa Cruz lived up to his all-action reputation, taking the fight right to a game but faded and overmatched Alexander Munoz, scoring knockdowns in the third and fifth rounds. On the second knockdown, Vic Drakulich made the right decision to stop the fight.
Santa Cruz (24-0-1, 13 KO) was his usual self tonight, throwing tons and tons of punches. Munoz (36-5, 28 KO) gave it everything he had tonight, but at 34, he was too small, too old, and had been too inactive to be really competitive tonight. It was an effort, but Santa Cruz was just too much for him -- and Santa Cruz, thus far, has just been far too much for anyone he's faced. His level of activity remains incredible.
We've got one more undercard fight to go, as Daniel Ponce De Leon will defend the WBC featherweight title against Abner Mares. After that, it's time for the main event. Join us!
