Friday, May 10
TV Publica (Argentina), 8:00 pm EDT, Marcela Eliana Acuna vs Edith Soledad Matthysse.
ESPN2, 10:00 pm EDT, Vernon Paris vs Manuel Perez, Lonnie Smith vs Cornelius Lock. With the battle lines drawn at SHO and HBO, and Golden Boy and Top Rank often needing to pluck up FNF-like fighters for fights on those networks, you can probably expect the ESPN series to look a lot like this in the future. None of these guys are prospects or contenders, but all of them are decent fighters. BLH will have live coverage.
SHO, 10:00 pm EDT, Dierry Jean vs Cleotis Pendarvis, John Thompson vs Giovany Rodriguez. ShoBox has gotten weird, too. BLH will have live coverage.
Saturday, May 11
Sky Sports (UK), 3:00 pm EDT, Ricky Burns vs Jose Gonzalez, John Simpson vs Choi Tseveenpurev. This is your biggest fight of the weekend, and even BoxRec is calling this a two-star bout. Burns is defending his WBO lightweight title in his Matchroom Boxing debut. Puerto Rico's Gonzalez is unbeaten and can punch, but he'll likely have a very hard time keeping pace with Burns' ability. BLH will have live coverage.
Showtime, 9:00 pm EDT, REPLAY: Floyd Mayweather vs Robert Guerrero.
Televisa (Mexico), 10:00 pm EDT, Adrian Hernandez vs Yader Cardoza, Ava Knight vs Linda Soto.
UniMas, 11:00 pm EDT, Vic Darchinyan vs Javier Gallo, Oscar Valdez vs Rocco Espinoza. This is Darchinyan's Top Rank debut. It's quite possible that the expected win here could land him a fight with new 122-pound king Guillermo Rigondeaux, which could be interesting, given Vic's general attitude about anyone.
TV Azteca (Mexico), 11:30 pm EDT, Miguel Beltran Jr vs Humberto Martinez.
